The EASDALCOI hosts the presentation of the II Premio Nacional de Moda Baño

The auditorium of the EASDAlcoi has been the scene of the ‘Moda de España 2019’ New Talent National Swimwear Design Award open ceremony.

The awards aim to be a “platform of opportunities and visibility for the best-formed fashion designers from the Iberian Peninsula” according to Moda Fashion Beach (MFB), the organizing entity. They have also highlighted the choice of EASDAlcoi as the starting point for this second edition as “one of the most prestigious higher education design centres on the Mediterranean slope”.

Some of the experts who took part in the event were Pilar Blasco, director of EASDAlcoi; Vicente Blanes, CEO of Aitex; Carmen Jover, head of management and innovation in fashion and the formative area of Aitex; Juan Matea, CEO of MFB, Juan Enrique Tribaldos, technical director of the National Swimwear Award; Yvan Andreu, winner of the first edition of the awards and Alberto Belda, alderman of Education of Alcoy.

MFB explained that the project is now in consolidation phase. They recalled that tourism and fashion “bring to our economy a considerable 18% GDP, so we must channel that wealth full of opportunities”.

As in the previous edition, the awards will be supported by Dolores Cortés Swimwear, a world-class firm in the swimwear sector. The Textile Technology Institute (AITEX) and the Confederation of Fashion Companies of Spain (ModaEspaña) will ensure the quality of the products.

In addition, the international Fashion Show of Madrid (MOMAD) takes part as a collaborating entity, serving as a showcase for the talent of the emerging swimwear designers.

Finally, Benidorm, the european capital of sun and beach, will hold the MFB catwalk with all the selected works.
