The Animation department of the EASDAlcoi has organized for the 16th, 17th and 18th of December the III Animation Days that will have the participation of outstanding figures of this sector that is in full heyday. There will be conferences and workshops to bring to all attendees the most interesting technical, creative and professional aspects of the animated projects.
We will open the talks, on the 16th at 12 p.m. in the School’s auditorium, Sam (Samuel Ortí). He is a director and animator specializing in stop motion technique and has carried out short films such as ‘ El ataque de los Kriters asesinos’ (2008) or ‘Vicenta’ (2010), both nominated for the Goya. In addition, in 2014 saw the light of his first feature film ‘Pos eso’ which received awards for international festivals in Chile, Italy and the Czech Republic, among others. All these titles have been made within his production company Conflictivos Productions and precisely this will speak to his conference ‘How to survive being an independent animator’.

On the same day and from 10 a.m. the costume designer Flora Cuevas will offer the workshop ‘Visiting a world in miniature’. He has worked in numerous animated productions making the costumes for the characters, always paying special attention to the fabrics (dyes, finishes and textures) and the structures with which the animation is made. The feature films ‘Missing Link’ (2019) and ‘Pos eso’ (2014) or series such as ‘Clay Kids’ (2011) are part of his professional career.

On December 17th at 10.30am and also to the EASDAlcoi auditorium, Ramón Alós and Alvaro Robles will talk about their short animated ‘Umbrellas’ that is now in production after having obtained the necessary funding through the Kickstarter platform. Alvaro Robles combines his work as a copywriter with one of director in works such as ‘Mara, Maravillas’ (2017) and screenwriter in different audiovisual projects. Ramón Alós is also the director, producer and screenwriter of short films such as ‘El Eden de Kiko’ (2014) or ‘El invernadero’ (2016).

Finally, on December 18th the workshop ‘Animation applied to different techniques’ by Ignacio Meneu will close the days. Meneu founded in 1987 the first animation studio of the Valencian Community: Camelot Cartoons, S.L and has worked as an animator and director to television series, feature films and advertising making use of both the 2D and 3D technique, within producers and also as a freelancer.
