Erasmus+ 2021 / 2027

Erasmus University CHARTER to the EASDAlcoi + Erasmus Policy Statement

The new Erasmus University CHARTER was granted to our school in the academic year 2020- 2021, valid until 2027, within the new ERASMUS PLUS programme, although during the academic year 2008-2009 the first mobilities of students already began in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme: Erasmus.

The mobility of students and teaching staff within the Erasmus Plus programme will continue the process of internationalisation of our Design School, initiated at the time under the guidelines of the Leonardo and Erasmus programmes.

We believe that, at current times, in higher education, it is necessary to promote knowledge of other national realities and to enable contact with international specialists, as well as to broaden and enrich the range of training courses offered and taught at our school.

The consolidation of existing links between the centres with which we currently have agreements and the creation of new ones is essential to promote the exchange of technical knowledge and experiences on different teaching methodologies.

The reception of both teaching staff and students to our centre will not only benefit their training but also that of our environment, since the incorporation of new cultures, new methodologies and new knowledge into our classrooms, will substantially modify the educational reality of the surroundings, producing an enrichment of the teaching-learning process. Similarly, it will also allow those students and teachers, who have not been able to benefit from the Erasmus mobility programmes, to do so from the contact, knowledge and training of these mobilities.

From the point of view of our staff mobility, it offers them the possibility of personal and professional development in a new and enriching environment where, in addition to the contact with other international specialists, the exchange of technical knowledge and experiences in the pedagogical field is enhanced.

From the student’s point of view, studying and doing a work internship in institutions and companies abroad is an academic, professional and personal adventure. During their mobility period, students have the opportunity to get to know new cultures, new national realities and

new languages first hand, which will allow them to benefit educationally, linguistically and culturally from the experience. Living in a foreign country favours adaptation to new environments, knowledge and respect between different cultures and the creation of a community of highly qualified young people and future professionals, with open minds and professional experience. Likewise, the incorporation of students to a new reality will allow them to develop new skills since the change of residence to a foreign city, a new language, their new university and working life and a new educational system, will give them greater self-confidence when facing future personal and professional challenges.

For all these reasons, we consider that the incorporation of our Design School into the ERASMUS PLUS programme has become our personal and professional challenge of internationalisation.
