Last week Fran Parreño, a former student of the cycle of Illustration of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi gave a presentation and a workshop about advanced watercolor to our students.
In the talk, Parreño made a tour about his professional career from the beginning, here in school, to the present day, a road in which different milestones appear, such as the three consecutive times in which he won the contest of the poster announcing the cavalcade of the Three Wise Men of Alcoi, to later be part of the jury of this award. It is also remarkable the carrying out of the poster of the Festivity of Moors and Christians of this same city. He is currently working with different English publishers in the production of graphic novels.
The speaker also gave very interesting advice to students to solve the typical problems that have to arise when entering the professional world.
At the end of this talk, took place the advanced watercolor workshop that he did in a very didactic way where he showed some examples to show the different techniques. Parreño brought a few still life pictures to work with the students to find the lights and shadows, and the chromaticism.
The attendees were very satisfied with this workshop that ended up being very personalized and also very gratifying for the same speaker, since he was able to return to his beginnings.
